Polytechnic scientist successfully completes an international internship at leading American educational institutions

On 8-27 March, 2024, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Tetiana Korol paid an educational visit to the United States of America.

As part of the international internship “Ukraine Teacher Exchange Programme for EFL Faculty members of Pedagogical Universities in Ukraine” organised by Regional English Language Office of U.S. Embassy Ukraine and NGO FHI360, Poltava Polytechnic’s scientist was included in the list of 20 teachers from leading higher education institutions from all over Ukraine who had the opportunity to successfully deepen their knowledge and improve their professional competences at the leading American educational institutions.

The educational visit programme included visits to Michigan State University (East Lansing, USA), one of the leading universities in the training of teachers of English as a foreign language, Lansing Community College, the Lansing Refugee Development Centre and the Detroit School of Ukrainian Studies.

Teachers from various Ukrainian higher education institutions took an active part in a series of master classes on various aspects of English language teaching methods taught by Michigan State University professors, joined practical English classes at Lansing Community College, and attended a number of cultural events.

As a part of the successful internship, Poltava Polytechnic’s scientist improved her professional competences, and she will definitely implement the knowledge and skills she gained in her future scientific, educational and professional activities.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Regional English Language Office of U.S. Embassy Ukraine, NGO FHI360 and Michigan State University for the opportunity to improve our professional skills at the international level, and we would like to thank the management of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for their constant and comprehensive support of our initiatives,” – said participant of the international internship Tetiana Korol.

Earlier, Polytechnic scientist held a master class for English teachers and developed a teaching methodology manual for foreign language teachers.

Recently, the Polytechnic scientist took part in workshops on open science in the Netherlands and Belgium, and she participated in a workshop on managing internationalisation and Ukrainian-German academic cooperation at a leading European university, a Polytechnic researcher became a finalist of the US Congress “Open World” Programme and shared her expectations from participating in the project, a Polytechnic researcher attended three scientific events in Prague dedicated to researches and research grants evaluation.
