On January 21, 2024, under the auspices of the Powerlifting Committee of Ukraine, the UPC 2024 Sobornosti Cup competition was held in the capital, in which experienced athletes from different parts of our country took part.
A student of the Myrhorod Vocational College named after Mykola Gogol of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", future heat and power engineer Dmytro Kyrii became the gold medalist of the UPC 2024 Sobornosti Cup in individual powerlifting exercises. The athlete won the championship in the age category T13-19, performing in the bench press in the weight category of 100 kg and overcoming the barbell of 155 kg.
The gold medal of the Sobornosti Cup became an invitation for athlete Dmytro Kirii to the "Sparta Cup" competition, which will be held on February 17, 2024.

It should be recalled that earlier the master's student of FPCS Dariia Holovko became the bronze medalist of the Cup of Ukraine in classical powerlifting among women.
Recently, Polytechnic students became the winners of the Cup of Ukraine in arm wrestling, won a full set of awards of the XVIII Cup of Ukraine in cheerleading, a student and a graduate of the Polytechnic became European champions in Thai boxing, and the athletes of the university became gold medalists of the World Championship in kettlebell sports.
